Lines 1-5
A year ago, the way where he passed, was garlanded with roses and the scent of myrtles. A large number of excited people were gathered on the roofs. The churches were bejeweled with the bright flags like flames.

A year ago, the air seemed to be foggy with the loud noise of bells to welcome. The walls of old streets seemed to crack due to the crowd. The people at that time were very excited that if the leader would have asked for the sun, they would have obeyed him and then asked for some other impossibilities.

The hasty patriot tells that he had tried his best to acquire the sun like impossible things for his nation but failed. They started to call him a “traitor’. This is the reward a patriot is going to gather. He is the author of his own tragedy like Mr. Z. A Bhutto.

He tells us that roofs, houses, and streets are banned today. Only a few old and sick people are looking at him through the windows. Many people are waiting on Shamble Gate where he is going to be hanged. The worse scene is that people are knocking/hitting out him beside the scaffold’s foot.

The traitor is walking in heavy rain. The rope cuts his wrists behind. People are throwing stones at him for his failure of last year. And his forehead is bleeding.

The traitor mourns on his graceful arrival and dreadful departure from the city. Now the people have forgotten his good deeds. They want to execute him but he is optimistic because he attaches his expectations to God Who will reward him for his service to people. The human race is treacherous, but God knows better who is who and what is what.
