مایا ہمیں ایک مغربی / امریکی خاتون کی طرح ایک نابینا بیل کی طرح گھریلو کام کے نیرس اور مونوکروم کے نظام الاوقات کے بارے میں بتاتی ہے اور بعد میں قدرتی چیزوں پر ضرب لگانے کی آرزو رکھتی ہے جس کی وجہ سے وہ زندگی کے سست اور گندے معمولات سے بچ سکتی ہے۔

اسے بہت سے گھریلو کام کرنا پڑتے ہیں۔ وہ اپنے بچوں کی دیکھ بھال کرتی ہے ، کپڑے کی مرمت کرتی ہے ، فرش صاف کرتی ہے اور کھانا خریدنے کے لئے بازار جاتی ہے۔

وہ مرغی کو اپنے کنبے کے ساتھ ساتھ مہمانوں کے لئے بھی پکاتی ہے ، اپنے بچے کو نہلاتی ہے پھر اسے خشک کرتی ہے ، باغ صاف کرتی ہے اور وہاں اگنے والے غیرضروری پودوں کو نکال دیتی ہے۔ وہ کپڑوں کو دھوتی ہے ، بچوں کو اچھی طرح سے ملبوس رکھتی ہے ، باڑ کو مناسب طریقے سے برقرار رکھنے کے لئے چھڑی سےکاٹتی ہے اور بغیر کسی نرمی کے اپنے گھر کو صاف کرتی ہے۔
